The POSEIDON Consortium Meets in Greece

Updates

February 11, 2026

The POSEIDON consortium held its second project meeting in Athens, Greece, hosted by the Athens University of Economics and Business on 10–11 February 2026. Partners met in person and online to review progress, align on priorities, and agree on key steps for the months ahead.

The meeting covered all core work streams, focusing on current status, responsibilities, dependencies, risks, and the concrete actions needed to deliver the next project outputs. Partners reviewed overall project coordination, the work plan, and preparations for upcoming reporting and future consortium meetings.

A dedicated session on requirements, use cases and the project framework examined how user needs and scenarios connect to the technical architecture and roadmap for the next six months. The consortium also discussed progress on post-quantum cryptography and hybrid approaches, including how candidate solutions will be aligned with system design and implementation priorities. Work on the agile transition toolset for post-quantum-safe digital identity focused on development planning, technical dependencies, and the move from design into implementation.

A major part of the meeting was dedicated to integration and pilot validation. Partners reviewed the status and next steps for three pilot scenarios: education credentials based on digital identity, a smart space scenario using an IoT/edge wallet, and a secure and trustworthy insurance scenario, including how these pilots will be assessed. The consortium also advanced preparations for capacity building and policy engagement, and agreed priorities for dissemination, communication and exploitation—setting the direction for how POSEIDON will share results, engage stakeholders, and support real-world uptake.

Looking ahead, POSEIDON is entering a crucial phase where technical implementation, pilot deployment and external engagement will accelerate.
