POSEIDON consortium meets in Warsaw to prepare the next phase of project work

July 2, 2026

The POSEIDON consortium held its third project meeting in Warsaw, Poland, on 1–2 July 2026. The meeting was hosted by the Polish Platform for Homeland Security and brought partners together to review progress, align ongoing work, and plan the next steps for the coming months.

The Warsaw meeting came at an important point in the project. With the foundations of the work already in place, partners focused not only on updates from individual project areas, but also on how these elements connect with each other as POSEIDON moves towards implementation, integration and pilot validation.

During the two-day meeting, the consortium reviewed progress in project coordination, requirements and use cases, post-quantum and hybrid cryptographic schemes, and the development of the agile transition toolset for post-quantum-safe digital identity. A significant part of the agenda was also dedicated to the project’s pilot scenarios, including digital identity-based education credentials, a smart space scenario using an IoT/edge wallet, and a secure and trustworthy insurance scenario.

The meeting also covered capacity building, policy and stakeholder engagement, as well as dissemination, communication and exploitation activities. These discussions are essential to ensure that POSEIDON’s technical work is supported by clear communication, relevant outreach, and meaningful pathways for future uptake.

A particularly important element of the Warsaw meeting was the hands-on discussion on integration, pilot preparation and first demonstrations. This confirmed that the project is moving steadily from conceptual and preparatory work towards more practical activities, where the developed components and approaches will be brought together and tested in realistic use cases.

POSEIDON is now entering a dynamic phase of work, with partners continuing to develop, integrate and validate solutions supporting post-quantum-secure digital identity in Europe. Further updates, results and opportunities to engage will be shared through the project website, newsletter (subscribe below) and LinkedIn profile.

Organisations, projects and experts working on post-quantum cryptography, quantum-safe security or digital identity are welcome to get in touch with the POSEIDON consortium to connect and exchange knowledge.
