On 30 June 2026, a stakeholder meeting on post-quantum cryptography in the context of cybersecurity solutions was held in Warsaw, Poland, at the premises of the National Centre for Research and Development. The event was co-organised by the Polish Platform for Homeland Security, representing the POSEIDON project, and the National Centre for Research and Development – National Contact Point for EU Research Programmes.
The meeting brought together representatives of public organisations, government institutions, universities and companies interested in the future of secure digital technologies. Institutions represented included, among others, Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, Ministry of National Defence, NASK – National Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences, and National Police Headquarters.
The event created an important space for dialogue between the POSEIDON consortium and stakeholders who may be affected by, contribute to, or use future post-quantum-secure solutions. Such exchanges are essential for understanding the needs of future end users, building connections across sectors, and raising awareness of the coming risks linked to quantum computing and today’s cryptographic systems.
The agenda combined a presentation of the POSEIDON project with expert contributions on quantum technologies, digital identity, blockchain, funding opportunities, self-sovereign identity data models, quantum-safe identity management, and the protection of classified information in military communications. The POSEIDON project was presented by its coordinator, prof. Antonio Skarmeta from the University of Murcia, while further technical perspectives were shared by project partners and invited experts. POSEIDON was also represented by Rashel Talukder (Polish Platform for Homeland Security), dr Mirek Sopek (Quantum B), Ross Little (Bull), Jesus Garcia Rodriguez (University of Murcia).
For POSEIDON, stakeholder engagement is not only a communication activity, but also an important part of ensuring that the project remains connected to real operational, institutional and technological needs. By working with organisations active in cybersecurity, digital identity, public administration, telecommunications, defence, standardisation, research and innovation, the project can better support Europe’s transition towards post-quantum-secure digital identity solutions.
The Warsaw stakeholder meeting confirmed that post-quantum cryptography is no longer only a technical issue for specialised research communities. It is becoming a strategic topic for public institutions, technology providers and organisations responsible for protecting sensitive systems and long-term data. POSEIDON will continue to support this dialogue in EU Member States by sharing knowledge, presenting project results and connecting with stakeholders working on quantum-safe security and digital identity.
